Highlights for the Week

  • Monday, September 21- Class Colors: 7th grade wear Carolina Blue & 8th grade wear Navy Blue

  • Tuesday, September 22- Toes out

  • Wednesday, September 23- See you at the Pole at 7:00-7:30; Spinal screening for boys, Wig Out Wednesday 

  • Thursday, September 24- Pep Rally; “Hunt down the lions,” wear camo; mums and garters may be worn as long as all noisemakers are taped down so as not to distract from the learning environment. If you would like to join us for the Pep Rally, please sign up using this link. Space is limited, and only parents/guardians who have signed up in advance will be permitted to attend. All guests must follow campus safety guidelines. 

  • Doors to the middle school open at 7:00 am. Buses begin arriving at  7:15, and the typical drop-off time is 7:30 for most MS students.

  • 10/6 Spring Dress Up Day: Jarrell Ranch Cougars Theme “They Ain’t Like Us.” Wear cougar spirit gear.

  • 10/20 Spirit Dress Up Day: Tennyson Texas Theme “Stomp the Texans.” Wear Western. 

  • 11/3 Spirit Dress Up Day: Carver Panthers Theme “Who Wears It Better.” Twin Day with a Twist. 

  • 11/12: Fall Retakes and Fall Dance

  • China Spring Middle School will participate in Stand-Alone Field Testing on Tuesday, February 2, 2027. Our 7th- and 8th-grade students will take a Reading field test. 3/2: Spring Pictures  

  • Lost & Found Items: Please remind your students to check the Lost & Found for any missing items. All unclaimed items will be donated to charity on the last day of each month.

  • Lifetouch Picture Day Opt-Out: If you prefer to opt your student out of Picture Day, please submit the Lifetouch Opt-Out Form.

  • Students must charge iPads at home. 

  • Please make sure students are aware if they are getting food delivered on game days. This helps minimize interruptions to instruction and helps the front office run smoothly.

  • Please help ensure that your students are following the dress code outlined in the CSMS handbook. Expectations were reviewed during last week’s assemblies, and dress code will be fully enforced starting this week. Students out of dress code will be given the opportunity to correct or change into appropriate clothing immediately if available; otherwise, parents will be contacted to bring clothes so the student can return to class promptly.

  • Attendance is taken every day during every class period. 

  • Tardies can be viewed under the Attendance tab in Ascender

    • A student who is tardy to class by more than 3 times per grading period may be assigned to before school detention or given another appropriate consequence.

    • Students arriving late to class will be marked as tardy.

    • Tardies count for every class, every period.

  • After School Detention will be held from 4:00-5:00 pm, and parents are responsible for transportation.

  • CELL PHONES, AIRPODS, & SMART WATCHES ARE NOT PROHIBITED at CSMS.  Non-school-issued technology must be turned off and stored out of sight.  Should a student need to communicate with a parent/guardian via their personal cell phone, he or she should ask for permission to go to the office to call or text his/her parent.

  • Spinal screens will begin  9/23/26 for 7th grade girls and 8th grade boys unless you send a written request to deny this service to lnixon@chinaspringisd.net by 9/22/26. Please refer to your email on 9/11/26 for more information.

  • Prescription medication requires a physician and parent signature.  Over-the-counter medications given per the bottle directions need a parent signature otherwise they will need a physician and parent signature.

STEP 1: Email Mrs. LupPlace, the Attendance Clerk with a parent/doctor note.

YOU HAVE 3 DAYS TO TURN IN A NOTE FOR THE ABSENCE TO BE EXCUSED. Please note: A PARENT NOTE will ONLY excuse ONE day with a MAXIMUM of FOUR PARENT NOTES (parent signed excuse) per semester will be accepted as 4 excused absences. For all absences exceeding the 4, students must turn in doctor’s notes or other formal documentation/proof. Otherwise, the absence will be unexcused. The doctor’s notes/documentation must be turned in within 3 days of the absence.
