Counseling & Guidance

Trina DeRosier

My name is Trina DeRosier, and I am incredibly excited to join the China Spring community as your new Middle School Counselor!

My passion for school counseling began during my time as a student at Tarleton State University, where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree and later a Master of Education in Counseling. I bring 23 years of experience in education, spanning several grade levels and diverse roles - including classroom teacher, special education teacher, ARD facilitator, and school counselor.

Middle school is a time of immense growth and transition, and I am deeply committed to supporting our students as they navigate these pivotal years. As a school counselor, my primary focus is to advocate for all students and promote their academic, career, and social/emotional development. To ensure our students have a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment to thrive in, I work closely with families, teachers, administrators, and community organizations.

Throughout the school year, I will be supporting your student by:

  • Providing short-term individual counseling and crisis intervention

  • Facilitating small group counseling sessions

  • Assisting with academic planning

  • Collaborating and consulting with parents, teachers, and staff

Please know that trust is vital for effective counseling. What a student shares with me remains confidential unless they give permission to share it, or if there is reason to believe they are in danger of hurting themselves, hurting someone else, or being hurt by others.

I am eager to get to know all of you and look forward to a wonderful school year working with your children! Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, concerns, or if you would just like to introduce yourself. You can call the school or email me anytime at tderosier@chinaspringisd.net.

Warmest regards,

Trina DeRosier, M.Ed.
