8th Grade Parents
To support testing on Thursday, please make sure your 8th grader fully charges their iPad Wednesday night (2/4) for the Social Studies and Science Spring Benchmarks. Thank you for partnering with us!
Attendance Reminder: Our district’s truancy support team would like to remind families that Texas law requires students in grades Pre-K through 12 to attend at least 90% of each class period to receive course credit or a final grade. This calculation includes all absences and tardies, whether excused or unexcused. Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting student success.
Important Reminders
As we look ahead, please take note of a few important updates:
Any incoming 7th or 8th grade girls interested in trying out for cheer must pick up a tryout packet from the front office. Completed packets must be signed and turned in no later than February 24 in order to be eligible for tryouts. Late packets cannot be accepted. Tryout packets will be available in the front office beginning Tuesday, February 3. For questions regarding cheer tryouts, please contact Ms. Kimberlyn Smith at ksmith@chinaspringisd.net
March 27th is one of our designated parent teacher conference days. If you are interested in a parent teacher conference, please email your students' teacher to get it setup on that day. If at any time you have questions about your student’s performance please email the teacher and they are happy to collaborate with you.

Students must charge iPads at home. Chargers should remain at home.
Please make sure students are aware if they are getting food delivered on game days. This helps minimize interruptions to instruction and helps the front office run smoothly.

Tardies can be viewed under the Attendance tab in Ascender
A student who is tardy to class by more than 3 times per grading period may be assigned to before school detention or given another appropriate consequence.
Students arriving late to class will be marked as tardy.
Tardies count for every class, every period.
After School Detention will be held Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of each week 4-5 pm, and parents are responsible for transportation.

Prescription medication requires a physician and parent signature. Over the counter medications given per the bottle directions need a parent signature otherwise they will need a physician and parent signature.

What do I need to do if my student needs to miss school?
STEP 1: Call the school @ 254-836-4611
STEP 2: Email Mrs. Oliver, the Attendance Clerk with a parent/doctor note.
YOU HAVE 3 DAYS TO TURN IN A NOTE FOR THE ABSENCE TO BE EXCUSED.
DUES: Class Dues are $20. We accept CASH, CHECK made out to CSMS or you may pay online through Myschoolbucks.com.
